The Nasdaq composite closed at 16,921.02 today, up by 1.11% compared to yesterday, with a year-to-date increase of 12.85%. The index has historically been closely tied to the S&P 500, reacting to macroeconomic factors like GDP growth, corporate earnings, and geopolitical news. Over the past 10 years, the Nasdaq has gained 299.36%, outperforming the S&P 500’s 179.12% increase. The top movers among Nasdaq 100 companies include Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon. The Nasdaq composite is market-cap weighted, with the top 10 companies representing over 50% of the index. Invest in the Nasdaq through ETFs, futures, or options, tracking its performance without buying shares of all 3,400 companies listed on the exchange.
