Costco is raising membership fees starting September 1. Gold Star membership will increase to $65 from $60, while Executive Memberships will go up from $120 to $130 with a maximum reward of $1,250. This is the first price hike since 2017 and will impact about 52 million memberships. Costco’s CFO hinted at the increase during a May earnings call, stating that fee hikes occur every five years. Membership fees are a significant revenue source for Costco, generating $1.12 billion in the most recent quarter.
